Inspired by Latife Tekin’s magic-realist chronicles of Istanbul’s urban slums, Infinite Fragilities presents a series of paper sculptures that function as both physical forms and shadow projections. Created by Maya Ersan, from discarded carboard boxes, this shadow world functions as an inclusive and inquisitive play space.
The project brought together a group of artists in experimental performance, theatre, relational and social practice, installation and dance to look at the material-based practice of Maya from Mere Phantoms, to take apart and put together an installation, play, create and make a shadow world together from discarded cardboard and paper.
Hosted by Ayse Orhon, Ayse Draz, and the collective Oda Projesi Infinite Fragilities became an forum for improvised play over two intensive days with the participation of Heiko Kalmbach, Öner Erkan, Büşra Firidin, Nadin Reschke, İz Öztat, Ayşe Draz and Oda Projesi (Seçil Yersel, Özge Açıkkol)
